T and A Go Wine Tasting

We headed to "The Hunter"  one of the wine regions of Ausie land.
2 1/2 hours outside of Sydney, but a long way from the "hustle and bustle" of the city.
We headed out for a weekend of opera and wine tasting.  You stay classy blog reader...

And welcome to the Hunter Valley!  Beautiful day!!

We stayed in the Monet room at a local B&B, only the best for T&A

Our first tasting!  And it was a good one!

T enjoying life at Pepper Tree Winery.  Some dude flew in here in a chopper, we took Hyundei

The Hunter country side, just beautiful.  The region is known for Semillion and Shiraz, but they do a few other varieties very nicely.  If you like sweeter wine you LOVE the Hunter wine.

Next stop Lakes Folly, awesome wine, but pricey...

Now this place has got to be cheaper to buy at!

OK enough joking around time to get classy!  On to the Opera in the vineyard!!

A little sparkling a little opera, sound good to me and to T!

A very classy night indeed.  Beautiful music, beautiful setting!

And as the sun sets a great weekend!!

Winter Road Trip to Jervis Bay

Yes it is winter in Sydney....what does that mean- its similar to spring weather in NYC.   The average day is 18 degrees Celsius - and gets as cold as 10 but some days it can be 22!  Speaking in celsius still confuses us- that goodness we have iphones to translate to Fahrenheit !

Here are a few snap shots of a 3 hour drive south of Sydney.  It was beautiful!

The Drive started thru a curvy national park road. (Notice photo taken from left side of the road.)  What an adjustment!

Then continued on to the coastal drive ( Alex all eyes on the road)

Although spring weather is great, I somehow was cold!

We debated hang gliding - but decided for a warmer day!

And agreed to stop for lunch instead!

Then onto the world famous "blow hole" discovered by Captain Cook
Yep there it is, a rock formation which replicates the "whales" blow hole when waves hit the rocks
Rainbow and all- it was cool!

As we continue to travel around australia, every beach we visit, is bound to have a "pool"

And the water is so unbelievably clear

Im still stunned - the water looks like glass and the is no pollution anywhere!
Back in the car and onto our next stop- this white beach in Huskinson- but the locals call it "Husky"

Then onto-  sampling the local bakery....
 What a stomach ache!

Next stop-  the famous "jervis" bay
Yep that is a flannel shirt with flip flops

What a great beach!
"It feels like my 30th birthday trip again!  "

Now back in the car ... we only have a few hours left!

 Wild Roos...
And end the trip with some fresh prawns!  Yum

It was a stormy day that day. We tagged our accomplishment at the finish.

Also apparently hot beef is good race recovery food...

TandA Go Kiwi Hunting

In addition to hunting Kiwi's we were also celebrating our one year anniversary!!

Hellloooo New Zealand Mountains! Taken from the plane...

Pilot - "Hello passengers landing in Queenstown is one of the most challenging landings in the world..."

Sweet....

We rocked hard the night before leaving and I required a coffee.
Also supporting the squad in another country, Go O's!!

T on the other hand was feeling great!!

Sunset in Q-Town as seen from our balcony... Pinot-O'Clock was a wayyy classier take on happy hour...

When in NZ, you must explore... ANd search for Kiwi's!!

No Kiwi's but we did find a BIG tree!

Through this gate the adventure begins!
T of the rings starts her quest...

The trail is long, but T is happy!

Over frozen lake we go...  Well not really, ice was thin...

The little smudge you see in the lake is a boat that is coal powered...

T in the dream catcher...

 Our journey continues...

We've reached the top!

Not too shabby...

 But the journey continues...

The quest for Kiwi's continues...
